FOUNDATION

The SANDERS HOUSE FOUNDATION works directly with athletes and artists to bridge the gap while forming a solid foundation and safe community through life skills, athletics, art, healthy coping habits, and resources that translate to success. Dr. Larry Sanders, a former NBA star, founded SANDERS HOUSE. Larry Sanders Averaged a double-double in just 3 seasons with the "Milwaukee Bucks" while leading the NBA in blocks. Sanders was on his way to becoming "defensive player of the year", all-star ranks, and upwards of 100 million dollars before retiring from the NBA for anxiety and depression. The "Sanders House Foundation" was created to help provide Mental Health resources for athletes and artists. Our mission is to create a safe space for athletes and artists to heal and grow while addressing the underlying issues contributing to their mental well-being. SANDERS House also provides "Stop the Violence" programs, reform, and re-entry into the community through mental health resources and creative job placement programs. Through basketball tournaments held in Larry's hometown and beyond, we promote community unity, foster positive relations, and advocate against violence. These events serve as a platform to engage with diverse communities and spread our core values of positive work ethic, physical and mental growth, and collaboration. Our community outreach is nationwide and through vertical intergradation, we plan on expanding globally spreading resources to alternative perspectives.
